If you want to change, or if you want things in your life to change, then YOU must change. You cannot expect for things to change around you, because you have no control over that. What you can do is change yourself, adjust your way of thinking, tweak your way of living, and the new perspective you have will make everything around you change.

Your energy needs to be self-contained and self-focused. The way to make the best of your life is to make the best of yourself as an individual. If you really want to help the people around you, then stop worrying about what they’ve got going on and worry more about how you can better yourself and put yourself in optimal position to help others.

Fear of poverty is completely irrational when you live in a country, in a world, of such abundance and opportunity. Why would the possibility of being poor even cross your mind when there are essentially unlimited ways to get rich? That doesn’t even make sense. Why fear losing what you have when you attained it in the first place, meaning you should already have the knowledge and resolve to be able to acquire it again (or even more)?

You must have major levels of persistence. Life requires it if you. Success DEMANDS it of you. Most people quit at the first sign of any type of failure. Actually, most people do even START if they think that an undertaking may be even the least bit challenging. They give up before they even start. They simply don’t give themselves the OPPORTUNITY to win. The unfortunate part is that as long as you’re willing to stand firm on your goals, not give up, not quit before you accomplish it, don’t take no for an easy answer, eventually you’re going to succeed.

Run your own life. Don’t allow random people to influence you or to dictate when or how you do things. You have to be the one in control of your journey; you need to be the driver of your life and not just another passenger. This world is full of passengers but not enough drivers, so don’t exacerbate this problem by being a passenger. Do your own thinking. Develop your own mind. Your mind is the only thing the universe has given you complete control of, so never give that power up to someone else.

Life is way too complex and brings with it too many opportunities to spend your valuable time worrying about what others have going on, or to be involving yourself in the affairs of others. There’s not much to be gained from gossiping with people or about people. All of that energy could be more wisely spent by going after your own goals, or by improving yourself. And by the same token, don’t worry about it when other people inevitably gossip about you. Just take it as a compliment that your spirit’s gravitational pull is so strong that others are so drawn to you.
-
Concentrate on information that will bring you closer to the attainment of your main goal. All other information is largely irrelevant; focus on those things that bring you closer to what it is that you want. All of the gossip, all of the social media stuff, anything petty going on in your life, unless it’s directly related to what your ultimate goal is, stop wasting your energy even thinking about it. It’s a waste of your time and a waste of your mind space. Concentrate all of your resources on what you WANT to happen in your life.

The earlier you get things done the better. Here’s the thing — we almost always know what to do or what we need to be doing, and we usually know when we need to do it. We simply CHOOSE to procrastinate, which is the worst choice you can ever make.
-
Focus on the process. If you do the right things every day, and simply focusing on the small steps it takes to reach your big goal, you’ll take so much pressure off of yourself. You’ll be able to succeed in daily bits rather than having to wait for one singular event to feel happiness.

Don’t limit yourself by setting your standards, goals, and expectations too low. If you set a goal to do ten push ups this morning, you’ve pretty much guaranteed that you’re not going to do 20. But if you set a goal to do 40, and only do 20, you may feel as though you failed or at least came up short, but in reality you’ve made way more progress than you would have made if you set a low goal to reach.
